I've been selected as the by-election candidate in Nottingham Road!

Recently, my Labour comrade, Diane Fletcher, relocated to Wirksworth and as such has unfortunately had to resign her position as one of the two Borough Councillors for Nottingham Road ward.

Diane’s resignation has triggered a by-election and, given I have lived in Nottingham Road for the last 18 months, I decided to put my name forward to stand in it.

I’m really pleased to announce that I have been duly selected by my friends in the ward, and will be standing for the vacant seat on the council in May 2021.

This is a great honour for me, and I’m very much looking forward to representing the community I live in, should I be successful in the election itself.

Diane has been a fantastic advocate for local people over the past two years, and I hope I am able to do her proud as the new councillor for Nottingham Road.

I’m very much looking forward to bringing my skills to Erewash Borough Council, where I intend to advocate for evidence-based policy that works for all.
