Former Nottingham Road Councillor endorses me as the next candidate
Our previous Nottingham Road Councillor, Diane Fletcher, has written some lovely words endorsing me as here successor.
Diane and I have long been good friends and I am honoured that she feels that I will be able to pick up where she left off. Here’s what Diane said:
“I have today resigned as councillor for Nottingham Road in Long Eaton after serving for two years alongside Gordon Thomas following election in May 2019. It was a great honour to represent residents of Nottingham Road ward during this time and I have done my utmost to support my constituents with planning queries, environmental concerns or other local issues. Unfortunately work and family commitments have meant I have had to relocate to the north of the county which means I am no longer able to fulfil my role as councillor for Long Eaton.
“I am delighted that Adam Thompson is standing as my replacement for Long Eaton Nottingham Road in the election on 6th May. I have worked with Adam for several years and know he is someone who will work tirelessly for the good of the people of Nottingham Road in particular and Erewash in general. Adam will bring energy, integrity and 100% commitment to the task of representing Long Eaton constituents. I hope that the voters who put their trust in me in May 2019 will now show the same faith in Adam Thompson who will be a very worthy successor.”
Thanks Diane, for all the hard work you’ve put in over the years in Erewash – you’ll be sorely missed, but I hope to make you proud as your successor.
